Annabelle (Now Presley) Overcomes All Odds

In September 2015, we launched a campaign for Annabelle. When we first saw the pictures of this little puppy, we were all astonished.

Annabelle was brought into a county shelter with her head swollen and left eye smashed and gutted. We learned that Annabelle was beat with a bat or metal object.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC was notified by the shelter and asked to help. They immediately went into emergency mode and Annabelle was rushed to a 24 hour hospital for supportive care.

Within hours, Annabelle went into surgery and medical treatment to address all of her injuries.

At the time, rescuers did not know the extent of the damage, including neurological, caused by the significant swelling to her head.

Annabelle spent several weeks at the vet recovering from the treatment. The swelling in her head has gone way down and the antibiotics started to work in treating her infections. Due to her severe injuries, she unfortunately lost her eye.

But you would never know that Annabelle’s past was so traumatic as she has put it behind her. She looks to the present and her future and it shows in her personality. Annabelle is loving affectionate friendly easy going good with other dogs loves kids and all people.

After two months of surgeries, treatment and tons of love, Annabelle got stronger and stronger.

By the end of October, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC announced that Annabelle was ready to be adopted. She had completely healed. Her physical trauma was now a thing of the past.

In December, Annabelle found her forever home. Annabelle, who now goes by Presley, is being pampered and loved by her new family. She will never have to endure the pain she experienced again.
