She was found nearly decapitated. When we found out who did this to her, we were crying....Read & share Crystal's story here: http://dogco.org/save-crystalPosted by Hendrick & Co. on Sunday, December 18, 2016
The days in rescue just never seems to get easier, regardless of how many dogs we try to help there is always one more in worse shape than the next. Second Chance Rescue was notified of Crystal when she entered animal control with a wound so deep around her neck. The shelter employees were not sure how she was still walking. Crystal was thrown outside with a leash or roped tied tightly around her neck and literally grew into her skin, cutting it wide open as it tightened.
No one went out to check on her. Not one person cared. She was almost decapitated. A simple collar change could have prevented this horrific injury. Unfortunately Crystals life didn't matter to her "owner" who discarded her like a bag of trash to the backyard, never to be looked or checked upon.
This poor girl has led a horrible life. She is high-heart worm positive from being left unprotected outside her entire life. She has breasts hanging down to the floor indicating she was used over and over again to produce puppies to make a quick buck. Her life was one heartache after another.
Second Chance Rescue could not say no. They rushed her to their partner vet immediately to get her the continued medical care she desperately needs! Don't worry little girl we will never let you suffer again! Now, Second Chance Rescue and Crystal need your help. With every purchase, you can change the world of Crystal forever. Your gifts this holiday season can mean something.
UPDATE 12-17-16 : Our severely injured dog Crystal had surgery to close the deep cut on her neck that nearly decapitated her. A simple collar change could have prevented this horrific injury. Unfortunately Crystals life didn't matter to her "owner" who discarded her like a bag of trash to the backyard, never to be looked or checked upon.
UPDATE 1-16-17 : She always did what was asked of her, raise puppies, keep the kids, be a loving family member. But she was left on her own, she was tied up outside and she was forgotten. As if that was not enough, that rope that tied her to that tree started digging into her neck. All the way around her neck, it dug in so deep that she was rushed into immediate emergency surgery to close her wounds. You would think she would be aggressive towards people BUT she is NOT. She is kind, she is gentle, she is sweet! She has been given the all clear by her veterinarian to find her perfect home, who will NEVER forget her again!
Crystal Stats: She is middle aged, maybe 4-6 years old. She is about 55 pounds. She is crate trained, and we believe house broken. She has shown NO aggression towards dogs or cats.To give Crystal a chance and to foster or adopt her please apply today! nycsecondchancerescue.org/app-form
