Jeremy went from having no hope to being adopted by his foster mommy!
Remember Jeremy from last summer? He was saved just in time by our partners at Rescue Dogs Rock. He almost died on them a few times but with love and a lot of care he made it.
We received a plea from our partners Rescue Dogs Rock to help a badly abused dog they named Jeremy. Our hearts were breaking for him. He looked like he was made of stone with those sad eyes peering out begging for help. He came into the shelter as a “stray” unable to walk or even stand.
RDR rushed the puppy to their vet. Jeremy’s temperature was only 94 degrees and the transporter was in tears saying the puppy was ice cold to the touch. The medical team was prepared and waiting to spring into action to save his life.
Vet staff got a central line in to Jeremy and he was started on albumen (protein) and blood transfusions along with dextrose. Jeremy's red blood cell count (PVC) was only 6 when he arrived at the vets which was very bad and his temperature wasn't readable!
A few days later his PVC was brought up to 28. A week into being rescued he was finally able to eat on his own. But then the biggest problem doctors faced was how to heal his skin. It was virtually destroyed from mange and he was so dehydrated his veins were blown and they cannot get a catheter back in. Jeremy was then rushed to a specialty hospital where they will had to put a central line in. It was his only hope to survive.
Now for the best news yet. Jeremy has not only healing his physical wounds but also his mental wounds. He started to trust his foster mommy and realized he was finally safe. Well that same foster mom couldn’t just let Jeremy go. After months of rehabilitation, care and around the clock love Jeremy’s foster mommy ADOPTED him! We call this a foster fail lol! It’s the best kind of fail in animal rescue! Look at him now! Jeremy will never be abused again! This is why we fight so hard for these dogs! This is where your donations go!
Because of Rescue Dogs Rock combined with hundreds of customers like you who purchased shirts and accessories to help with his treatment, Jeremy received a new lease on life.
