ACole, a one-year-old lab pit mix, is suffering from red (demodex) mange that covered his entire body and left him hairless. Cole's owner dipped him in motor oil, which is an old homemade remedy that isn't effective at treating the infections that are caused by mites. The oil treatment only made Cole's condition worse and left him with secondary infections. Such a "treatment", if you can call it that, is quite toxic, especially when applied to skin that is already infected and raw.
With the help of volunteers and Humane Society of Louisiana, Cole was transported to the vet in Northern Louisiana, where animal services are almost non-existent.
Hendrick & Co. has created this campaign to raise the funds on behalf of the Humane Society of Louisiana. We made a custom line of products, which depicts Cole and an incredible important message, namely, "The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Judging by the actions of the folks at the Humane Society of Louisiana, we truly are a great nation. But, it takes all of us to do our part.
