A huge fire destroyed houses and businesses on the Honduran island of Guanaja, forcing hundreds of residents to flee for safety. Leaving street animals behind to suffer a horrific death.
The island’s street animals were caught in the blaze that ripped through the streets and were burned alive. Near and Far Animal Foundation’s Honduran volunteer rushed to the scene to try to help the animals that were burned and bring them to their local refuge.
She came upon a cat who was trapped in the fury of the blames and most of his body was covered in 2nd and 3rd degree burns. Joaquin was rushed to the ER and doctors were able to stabilize the cat and start 24 hour wound care.
