Micaela was found on the streets in desperate need of medical attention. his small female street stray is in desperate need of immediate vetting. Rescuers on the ground in Peru were not aware of how bad the apparent raw tumors on her genitalia were until they brought her to the hospital.
Immediately, vets did bloodwork, skin scrapings, antibiotics and pain meds.
Unfortunately, Micaela has malignant Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor. TVTs, as they are called, are histiocytic tumors of the external genitalia of the dog and other canines and is transmitted from animal to animal during mating. She is anemic and plagued with ehrlichia. Antibiotic protocol was started also to combat the tick disease.
The journey ahead will not be an easy or quick, but rescuers at Near and Far Animal Foundation are committed to saving Micaela.
We have created this campaign to raise the funds for Micaela's chemotherapy treatments and medical care. With every purchase made, we will donate to help save Micaela.
