Pirate was found by a Good Samaritan while he was struggling to survive on the streets in the Bronx. He was once someone’s loved family pet, and for whatever reason, he was discarded to live outside.
Unfortunately, domesticated cats are not able to adapt to outside life and many of them do not survive. Luckily, Second Chance Rescue got Pirate when they did, but he is in very bad shape.
His eye was severely traumatized and needed to be removed. His tail is broken and will need to be amputated. He needed a full dental examination done because he was having trouble eating. He has a severe skin condition that requires further diagnostics. And, rescuers ran bloodwork and discovered that he has FIV. As a result, he will need to be with an only-cat home or a household that has another FIV-positive cat.
PLEASE HELP! The vet bill for Pirate was well over $3000. Hendrick & Co. created this campaign to raise the funds needed to cover Pirate's treatment. With every purchase you make, we can give Pirate a new life and a loving home.
