3 puppies were found dumped in a box in freezing temperatures.
These 3 tiny puppies who were found in a box, in freezing temperatures on a NYC Street. This happened on over Thanksgiving. A woman found these 3 tiny small breed puppies in a box, on the street, and brought them to the local NYC shelter. When Second Chance Rescue NYC received the call one of the puppies is barely moving, and very lethargic. We know it is Holidays and most people are celebrating but we are hoping you can help Second Chance Rescue make the holidays about saving these pups.
Once at the emergency vets the puppies were stabilized and test were run. It turns out that the puppies tested positive for parvo, a deadly virus, that prays on puppies with underdeveloped immune systems.
Sadly, one of the babies has succumbed to the virus and passed away in the arms of rescuers. The other 2 puppies are still fighting for their lives. Little Meg, and her brother Josh, are being cared for around the clock. Sadly whoever dumped them knew they were sick. Rather than do the right thing, and take them to a vet or even the shelter, they were discarded like garbage in the streets.
Second Chance Rescue NYC will do everything they can to get the 2 remaining babies through this, as you know parvo is a serious virus, and it is touch and go. Their cost will
Please consider purchasing one of their products you see to help raise the funds for their specialty care. With every purchase you can help rescuers continue to give them the care they desperately need.
UPDATE 12-3-18: Friends I have some good news for you. The two puppies who survived have both been adopted! They have completed with their parvo treatments and will be headed to their new forever homes right away. The baby girl has been named Meg and her brother has been named Josh. To think just two weeks ago someone dumped these puppies in a cardboard box is heartbreaking but knowing now they are healthy and headed to a new home warms our hearts. Please share their happy updates.
