Aldo was found on the streets of Peru with huge facial tumors!
I know these photos are hard to see but please put yourself in his shoes. We must not turn a blind eye to Aldo. He was found lying and waiting to die on the streets of Peru. The team at New York Bully Crew stepped in to save his life!
NYBC said he is riddled with disease that could have been prevented. He has facial masses that have ruptured and is bleeding from his nose. He is severely anemic and has a bacterial infect called ehrlichia which is usually transmitted through bite wounds.
He was rushed to NYBC’s vet partners in Peru. Doctors will start chemotherapy as soon as possible to treat his facial tumors. Vet staff have already started him on pain medications, antibiotics and vitamins supplements. They must resolve the infection before chemotherapy can begin to start treating his facial tumors.
UPDATE 3-19-19: Although Aldo’s appearance is harsh, he is finally strong enough to begin chemotherapy. His biopsy results came back as cancer so now he begins the next phase of his journey. He is having his first treatment right now as Karina (rescuer in Peru) just sent his update. Aldo needed to build his strength before beginning therapy. Please send your love and support as we wait for a positive outcome. Also, please continue to support NYBC save his life!
New York Bully Crew will be transporting Aldo to the states once he is stable and his facial tumors are treated. He cannot be transported without being treated first. Please consider helping us get Aldo the medical care he needs. We have created a candle collection to help raise the funds for his chemotherapy. Please share his story and purchase your candle to help give Aldo the second chance he deserves.
New York Bully Crew
New York Bully Crew is a 501c3 not-for-profit rescue organization founded in December 2010. Though based on Long Island, NYBC’s outreach is nationwide. We specialize in rescuing Pitbulls, however no animal in dire need of rescue is turned away. NYBC strives to bring positive attention to the most loyal breed one could encounter, and give second chances to those who have been discarded by humans simply because of what they are…a Pitbull.
