Amelia was dumped after being used for breeding and left in the "Corridor of Cruelty".
This story is heart wrenching. Rescuers were in Houston trying to save another dog when this tiny and very sick puppy came walking towards them almost begging for help. She was scared but still trusting. You can see in her photos that she has a lot she needs to overcome. Will you help us?
Rescuers have named her Amelia. She has suffered for a year on the Corridor of Cruelty. This is a section of Houston, Texas, dubbed "The Corridor of Cruelty.” It's basically a dumping ground for live and dead animals. The corridor -- an area more than a mile wide where abused dogs are abandoned -- is located in northeast Houston near the Little York. Some dogs are dumped in trash bags others are let loose in horrible conditions just like Amelia.
In Texas, it is a criminal offense to abandon dogs (according to Assistant District Attorney Belinda Smith.) But that hasn't stopped anyone.
She was immediately rushed to an Emergency Hospital. Amelia has lived a life of breeding. She has a very painful skin disease and riddled with thousands of fleas. Her body is unrecognizable but detailing her horrible life at such a young age. Sleeping under a broken plastic table in a neighbors yard, feeding off scraps and making friends with strays.
Now we are begging for your help! We have created this campaign with The Underdog Project to help raise the funds for little Amelia. Every shirt, hoodie and bracelet can help save her life! With your purchase today we can give this victim of abuse a chance at a pain free life full of love.
Update 1-17-17: Little Amelia went to the vet this past week. She is approximately 20lbs so rescuers bought her a little carrier, which she has fallen in love with. She's a smart little girl, and has a lot to offer once her hair grows back! She is waiting by the window for her forever home.
