Defeated, severely neglected, empty, sick, alone and hurting. Yet another dog who knows only to well what that feels like. It was her reality every day that she was able to survive another 24 hours. Imagine that?

To be in that situation, not being able to have the ability to change the horrible fate you were handed in life? Just excepting it because you have no other choice. That pretty much sums up this one dogs life on a daily bases.

We received a call asking if we could help. Upon seeing her, Second Chance Rescue knew from that very moment they could not let her suffer another minute of her rotten, unloved neglected life. A southern girl, at the shelter they called her Libby. Like an ocean's wave surfacing the sand SCR let her former name drift out to sea, giving her a new freedom name and new start to life.

Her name now Anais. She will stand tall and hold her head proudly. We promise her that.

She is only a year old. Anais has severe non contagious mange, from being malnourished. Both of her ears are painfully and severely infected. She Has a cataract in her left eye, and a heart murmur. She is being treated with meds for her skin and ear infections. She was given a medicated bath to sooth her painful skin. She was pretty scared, trying to escape her very first bath, she has never experienced this before. She is comfortable right now and resting.
