Ansley: Stray puppy battling severe skin infection
Precious Paws Sanctuary got word of a stray dog that made her home at a local church. They had been feeding her for several weeks and accounts described a dog in dire condition.
Rescuers at Precious Paws Sanctuary went immediately to the church to try to find the dog. They only saw a large black and white dog. But, as rescuers came closer, they caught glimpse of the frail puppy. The big dog was trying to breed her. She was in heat.
Rescuers parked their car to attempt to capture her with canned food. After several tries, rescuers finally lured Ansley, as she would be called, to the food and they were able to snatch her up and drive her to safety.
They brought her straight to Precious Paws where she was given her first treatment for mange and wormed. Her skin had little fur left on her blackened, crusted body, aside from the the hairs on her head and spine. The mange had severely taken over her frail body.
It was obvious that this was not a wild dog. Someone had cared for her at some point. She was loving and kind to all of the rescuers at Precious Paws Sanctuary. She did not get this way overnight, nor unnoticed. Somebody probably watched her slowly deteriorate and then dumped her at the church or maybe God led her there.
This baby is no longer the "mange dog at the church", she is Ansley, the dog on the road to recovery. But, she needs your help today. With every tee, hoodie, bracelet, or dog accessory purchased, you can help save Ansley.
