Banky was violently thrown from a moving vehicle in front of a flea market.
A puppy was violently thrown from a moving vehicle in front of a flea market. The shelter called our partners at Second Chance Rescue NYC and asked them to help a tiny paralyzed puppy named Banky. They have an eyewitness that saw people dump the puppy from a car window. Little Banky is six weeks old and has entered this hard knocked world being thrown like a newspaper on a driveway.
Founder, Jennifer Brooks told us, “Doing this for as many years as I have been in rescue, I am shocked, horrified and downright puzzled as to how adults can think that trying to kill a puppy is ok. She is paralyzed, she has a hard tumor or abscess on her belly, covered in fleas and clearly can't get up. She is a hot mess with mange as well. How anyone can look at this angelic puppy and inflict so much pain is downright barbaric. I don't know if and have a bad feeling that she may never walk again. We need to get her to a specialty center for MRI, X-rays, fluids, pain meds, dewormer--you name it she needs it now. PLEASE help us pull Banky Brewster.”
We do not know if her Spine is severed from the blunt force she has endured. We have partnered with SCR to help raise the funds they need to save tiny Banky. Her care will cost over 10,000 including the MRI and emergency care and any surgeries she will need. That is not the type of funds rescuers have.
UPDATE: A message directly from Banky himself! "Hi everyone, it's me Banky, Banky Brewster-By the time you read this, I will be in the middle of my Hernia surgery. I have been deflea-ed, dewormed, cleaned up, fed, hydrated etc... I feel sharp and i'm ready to take it. I have some special news, Dr. Terry got my back right leg to kick! We don't know right now if my paralysis is permanent or temporary but Dr Terry and her team are doing everything they can for me. I heard her on speaker phone today telling my rescue she's gonna hit me with everything she's got! WHOA! I hope that's a figure of speech! I may be small but don't count me out everyone, I'm gonna make it and i'm gonna show everyone what i've got! Love is all around me, it surrounds me and it is INSIDE OF ME. When you work with your heart, you ultimately see results...I'm gonna show you the fruit of my labor. The rescue will let everyone know how I am doing this weekend ok? I love you and don't forget about me."
UPDATE: Banky has scabies which is something treatable with medicated shampoo. His doctors said Banky is running around and moving well. He is at his best now and finally has some strength back. Despite everything he has been through he continues pushing forward with more rehabilitation and laser treatments.
To help save Banky please consider purchasing one of her shirts, totes, bracelets and coffee mugs below. We have partnered with RDR to create these animal saving products to raise the funds needed to save her.
UPDATE: A message from Banky himself, "Me and Dr Terry are not speaking right now. Well she's talking to me and I yell at her actually. She done tried to play me today. I asked her for an espresso and they alll went and got themselves McCAfe. What kind of crap is that?? They couldn't even hook a sister up with a MAC Jr hold the buns and extra pickles. A puppy like me needs lots of protein and NO complex carbs. You see this little bod? All taught and gorgeous? I worked my tail off for this bod. Lifts, dips, sumo squats, skull crushers and working the rectus abdominus with some knee raises and tuck crunches. Getting a chiseled midsection is mosly nutrition and losing fat, but training it optimally can help imensly in the process. They wouldn't know what an imprefect bean was if it splashed out of their McCafe and hit em in the face. I heard the Redhead telling folks that i'm medically cleared to go to my rescue in NYC this weekend. PARK AVE and David Yurmen here I come, y'all ready for some BANKY????!!! Y'all better put yourselves in the container store to contain yourselves, cuz Banky is comin to town! Anyway, let me simmer down a bit so my friend PANDA can get some rest. He doesn't feel well and he has been like THE BEST ROOMMATE EVER! I tell him stories all the time and he just listens..doesn't say much, SUCH A GOOD LISTENER. I told him hang in there, he will be released from captivity soon as well and then he can call me and i'll work him out too, so much potential for a killer beach bod. These women are ruthless and I know they will miss them some Banky. Anyway Folks, mucho love for ya."
