I survived being burned alive! Rescue Dogs Rock's amazingly strong & resilient puppy, Barney, who suffered unthinkable abuse at the hands of a monster is resting and getting around the clock care.

Barney is a true inspiration! At only 5 months old, he has suffered a broken jaw, 3 broken legs & burns all over his body. He just had FHO surgery to repair his badly broken back left leg. He's also getting daily laser treatment for his various aged burns. Boy does he love his rescuers. He actually gives kisses & wagged his tail. It is truly amazing to see how strong Barney is! His body is functioning better now that he is in a routine. Structure is his best friend. He loves the water and getting a medicated bath every other day followed by an oatmeal massage. Every night he also gets a full body massage of coconut oil, which relieves the burn and sting of his sensitive skin.

****** UPDATE BARNEY **** 2/27/16

We are happy to report that Barneys hip surgery was a success and he is resting comfortably. He will need continuous laser treatments now and recover from this first surgery. Once he is a bit stronger RDR can assess the additional surgeries he will need.

We are truly touched by the outpouring of support we have received throughout this very difficult time with the rescue of Barney. It gives us hope and strength to continue our mission and make a small difference in these innocent lives that deserve so much from us. Thank you to all our amazing supporters.

****** UPDATE BARNEY **** 2/24/16

His skin is raw and red from being burned alive. It has been confirmed the burns are of varying age some newer and some older. This means Barney was burned over a period of time. Today a huge patch of his hair just fell out.

Notice how his back right leg is straight with no bend. We have learned that due to the break in the bone, which has fused, Barney cannot bend this leg at all. At this time, we do not know if the leg will need to be amputated or surgery can be performed to save the leg.

Rescue Dogs Rock is having their medical team consider every option. We have confirmation that Barney will need F.H.O. surgery on his left back leg, which is called a Femoral Head Osteotomy. This is the surgical removal of the head and neck of the femur. We still desperately need your help.

Barney is a 4 1/2 month old has suffered greatly at the hands of pure evil. He has endured some of the worst cruelty and abuse we have encountered to date. We have partnered with Rescue Dogs Rock to help save him. Will you help us save this baby?

- It has been confirmed that Barney was absolutely BURNED ALIVE! - It has been confirmed that Barney has an old broken jaw fractured! - It has been confirmed that Barney has 3 broken legs ... The 2 back legs and 1 front leg... According to the X-rays These broken bones all occurred at different times some of the breaks are new and some happened weeks ago ...

He was brought into a high kill shelter after someone saw him wandering the streets. Upon examination it was determined he had severe burns all over his body that were intentionally inflicted upon him. But unfortunately the abuse Barney suffered is much worse than just burns which is quite devastating to comprehend. It was also discovered Barney has a broken jaw and 2 broken back legs. The jaw injury is old and the back leg injuries are relatively new.

This Means Barney was continually and methodically abused and tormented over his 5 months of life. We just cannot imagine the sadistic torture this poor baby has endured. His abuser is still out there and RDR have no leads on who did this.
