Bear was adopted then years later found with a missing leg.
SCHOOL ALERTS POLICE TO WORST CASE OF ANIMAL CRUELTY. From a distance he looked like just another dog lounging in the back yard, but when they noticed he had not moved for days, folks started to take a closer look and that’s when the smell confirmed this dog was in serious need of help.
Severed leg that had gone septic and weak from starvation, this dog is now the focus of a Animal Cruelty Investigation! Here is where the story gets complicated. This for was microchipped and adopted as a puppy from the shelter. The owner claims they gave the dog away and do not want him back!
Shelter put out a plea and Dogrrr responded, we only hope it’s not too late. He was rushed to the ER, where he was met by Patti the President of DDRRR, who had been briefed while in route to the hospital. On the dogs arrival she told the medical staff “This dog has lived through hell and I want everything and anything you can do to make sure this dog lives to know a better life!, HE WILL Live so whatever you need to do, let’s get it done!!”
Due to an open investigation we can not go into specifics, but rest assured we will press this investigation. Right now we are trying to save his life! “Brownie Bear” is what rescuers are calling him and he needs the animal advocates from around the world to stand up, join together and fight alongside him.
If you could help with his surgeries we would be so grateful. DDRRR simply does not have the funds to cover his enormous vetting bill. We have stepped in to help in our own little way. We have created the Animal Abuse Awareness shirts, hoodies, totes and bracelets you see below. We ask that if you would consider one of these items to purchase. It's a great gift to give to family and friends and you get to tell them they helped save Bear’s life.
Dallas DogRRR is a group of dedicated, animal-loving volunteers who support the abandoned dogs of Dallas, Texas, by collecting supplies, paying vet bills, locating foster families, facilitating adoptions, and advocating for a more hopeful future. We are often seen even in the trenches of SE Dallas searching for and rescuing forgotten dogs. We have no administrative fees; no one is on payroll. Every single cent that is donated goes directly to paying for vet bills and food/supplies for our rescued dogs, as well as for boarding (for those that don’t have fosters). We are simply a group of volunteers motivated by the inspiring rescue stories that we get to be a part of every day!
