Bear's only hope was from an anonymous call.
Rescuers got a plea asking for help with this poor sweet boy. In Tifton, GA an anonymous call was placed to the shelter saying, ”There's a dog on a chain here dying if you want to come get him.” Can you believe that? He’s emaciated, covered in fleas, can't stand or walk & his gums are white. He is in fact dying! He needs your help! Get your Bear tee and help save this babies’ life today!
Bear was rushed to the closest ER vet in a desperate attempt to save his precious life. We will NOT stand by and let him die, not without a fight! He deserves better and he will get better. This is not ok, not by a long shot!
Bear's blood transfusion took almost 5 hours so went late into the night. His levels will be checked shortly and we hope he's in a safe range now. He is eating and was able to stand for a bit.
Because his red blood cell count was only 8 his doctor said this was the end of the road and he likely would not have seen tomorrow! Bear is critical so please keep him in your thoughts & prayers!
UPDATE 4-29-17: Bear arrived at a GA ER vet Saturday after the local animal control in Tifton GA got a call about "a dog on a chain dying." Bear was very near death with a red blood cell count of 8, barely alive. He was covered in fleas, thousands of fleas, anemic and dehydrated. He had a blood transfusion which raised his rbc count to 22 and spent the weekend on IV fluids. Today he was strong enough to move from the ER vet to a regular vet! Yay Bear. Will you help Bear? He has a long road ahead and he's so young about 12-18 months old. He should have his entire life ahead of him!
This is where we desperately need your help. We have partnered with Rescue Dogs Rock to raise the donations needed for Bear’s care.
