Ben: Abused so much, he cowers at the site of humans
When a dog, only 18 months old, cowers at the site of a human, we all know exactly what happened.
Ben was found in San Antonio, Texas with emaciation, mange, horrible skin infections and, worst of all, puncture wounds all over his body.
Shelters can't do much with terrified medical dogs, so it's pretty much rescue or euthanasia. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC heard about Ben, and quickly rushed him to the vet in San Antonio. Be was immediately put on IV fluids and antibiotics.
Because of the severity of the puncture wounds and raw, bleeding skin, Ben had to be sedated as his wounds needed to be shaved and cleaned. He was in so much pain that there was no other way to accomplish this without sedation.
Ben remains on multiple pain medications and IV treatment all day and night.
It is certain that Ben was abused repeatedly and neglected for months.
He will have a lengthy healing process - both physically and mentally. It will take time and a lot of love to overcome his fear of humans again. But, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC is determined to make it right for poor Ben.
We have partnered with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC to raise the funds needed for Ben's care. With every shirt, hoodie, necklace or bracelet purchased, we will donate $10 to help save Ben.
Ben remains at Rescue Dogs Rock's Texas Vet partner receiving life saving medical treatment. He was put under anesthesia to clean and shave his deep gashes and wounds. There was no other way as Ben was in horrific pain.
He's doing better after the surgery and continues on heavy doses of pain meds. Ben is resting comfortably and will remain at the vet indefinitely. Please help us save this boy by purchasing a product above!
