Brielle was cut almost in half!
Why do you get a dog to only tie it up outside to die? This is the heartbreaking story of Brielle, a young shepherd who was a victim of terrible neglect. As a young puppy her "owners" couldn't take the "mess" and "annoyance" of a new puppy so instead they tied her up outside. They left her there for months. Her tether soon became tangled around her abdomen and no one helped or saved her. She began to grow, as puppies do. As it got tighter it cut into her abdomen becoming embedded within her. It was literally cutting her in half.
Here is the story from her perspective: "My name is Brielle. Let's go back to the beginning...Once upon a time, I was just a small little puppy, cute and cuddly and had a family of my own. Like most puppies, I was playful and sometimes made a mess - but because I sometimes made a mess and I was 'too playful' I was put outside and tied up so I wouldn't run away.
This is when my nightmare began. I was still that playful puppy but I was growing up so fast and I couldn't stop it, or get away no matter how hard I tried. Soon I was tangled up in my tether and the ones I thought were my family didn't help me. The tether became tighter around me each and every day until I was unable to move. That's when my rescuer found me, he cut me loose and held me in his arms and told me I was safe now, and I will be okay. Of course, at the time, I wasn't sure if he was telling me the truth, I was very scared. The doggie-doctors told me the tether was embedded inside my skin around my abdomen leaving large lacerations. Had I been there even one week longer, I would have died."
