Buddha was attacked and went 24 hours with no vet care.
This is one of the most emotional cases we have done. This tiny puppy was attacked by a dog. He is only 4 weeks old and went 24 hours with NO vet care. The first picture was his intake where Buddha’s head was swollen and his eye was pushed out! We are not sure of all the trauma he has incurred
Buddha was rushed to the emergency vets by rescuers at Dallas Dog RRR. First doctors had to drain the many wounds over his body because they had formed abscesses. He has a broken left scapulas and had emergency amputation surgery with a specialist.
Last night, Buddha was anesthetized and his infected wounds were cleaned. He was put on IV fluids and antibiotics and high doses of pain medication. His left eye has some fairly significant scarring and his right eye has a lot of discharge and doctors are hoping it can be saved.
This is all happening now. I know this is hard to see but we must focus on Buddha. We are here to help support Dallas Dog and his emergency care. We are sponsoring his care with one of our Every Animal Matter custom mugs, totes, aprons, and pillows. Please consider getting one for you or a loved one and help me help tiny Buddha.
UPDATE 8-8-19: Buddha continues to heal after his amputation surgery. His tubes were removed today!! He is showing his incredible strength and will to live! Not to mention showering his rescuers with kisses and love.
UPDATE 8-16-19: Buddha's wounds are healing incredibly well! He is learning how to walk again with only three legs. He has started to eat full meals which is important for a growing puppy who is still healing.
UPDATE 8-20-19: The amazing team at Dallas Dog RRR have been working around the clock saving this puppy's life. Buddha is checking in and wanted to update you that he got his stitches out and he's doing great! Peach fuzz is turning into hair! YAY!
