Calvin & Hobbs: Two dogs starved and abused by their "OWNERS".
We reached out to Second Chance Rescue NYC after stumbling across photos of a dog in a depraved situation barely standing in the middle of a terrible ordeal -- ALL ON THEIR FACEBOOK. We immediately went into action to create this campaign to help us raise the funds needed.
Our hearts immediately sank, as will yours, as you see him now. There are really just no words to explain the abuse this poor baby has suffered. I know we ask this often but how can people be so cruel? I know these images and stories are hard to see but without our help these animals would surly die. Will you join us?
The abuse and neglect cases just keep coming with no end in sight. After plenty of deliberation, the "OWNERS" finally agreed to surrender the dogs. And yes, we are just as upset by this as you guys are. Second Chance Rescue NYC is doing everything in their power to investigate this case.
One question rescuers ask is why bother having any pet if you are going to starve them? We sadly have no answer. SCR immediately got in touch with their emergency vet partner rescue over at Dallas Dog RRR to help assist with the save. There was no time to waste as a dedicated volunteer had already arrived at the scene and raced him to get emergency medical attention. His rescuers have named him Calvin and he was found over the holiday weekend in a backyard with another dog that S.C.R. has named Hobbs.
He's emaciated and barely able to walk. He has zero fat, is extremely dehydrated and is running a fever. Despite his horrible condition, he is still super sweet as is his battle buddy Hobbs.
We have partnered with Second Chance Rescue NYC to help raise the funds needed for their care. Please consider purchasing an item below to help save these two babies. This kind of abuse needs to stop.
