Initially thought to be a puppy, 2-year-old Chipmunk has been suffering for months, if not his entire life. Infested with mange and severe skin infections, Chipmunk found himself at a high-kill shelter, but it probably saved his life.
The Underdog Project immediately came to the shelter to rescue Chipmunk and rushed him to the vet for emergency care. He is completely broken, emotionally and physically. He has cowered for most of the day, he shakes in fear and he looks away and closes his eyes from rescuers.
This did not happen overnight. It is obvious that trust in humans has led him to become like this. And, we can only hope time will let him heal.
It will be a long journey in his physical recovery. It will be a much longer road for Chipmunk to trust humans. But, the Underdog Project will take this journey with him at every step of the way and we know that you will be there as well. With each and every purchase, you can help with Chipmunk's recovery.
UPDATE 12-29-16 : Chipmunk has been improving, slowly but surely. He is still very scared and cowers at the sight of humans. He is starting to come out of his shell with a little treat or two. Chipmunk is such a sweet boy and did not deserve to live through what he lived though. He has a long way to go but we will work on getting him 100% healthy until he is ready to find his forever home. That is our promise to Chipmunk. Please continue to support him along his journey by purchasing one of his t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags or bracelets. With each and every purchase, you can help with Chipmunk's recovery. This wont be easy but with your help he can survive this abuse!
