Chloe and Angelo abuser dumped them in the middle of the night.
These 2 puppies were left outside a GA shelter late at night alone, sick, frightened and cold. Who ever left them there knew if they dumped them in the middle of the night then they wouldn’t be caught. Luckily they were still alive when someone arrived in the morning.
Shelter staff had 2 options: find a rescue willing to take them to get them urgent medical care or be euthanized that morning. Luckily our partners at Rescue Dogs Rock stepped in to save them. We have created the Animal Abuse Awareness shirts you see below to help raise the funds needed for their emergency care.
They have been named Gracie and Angelo. The volunteer who transported both dogs had this to say, “They are in bad shape. Bad shape. I don’t know that the female will make it. Honestly when I walked back there to get her and she was laying like that on the concrete floor, I thought she was gone. I really did. My heart fell. I truly don’t know if she will make it.”
She went on to say, “They both have terrible mange, scabbed over and bleeding, missing hair and open wounds. Their eyes were matted and infected with yellow gunk. Their skin is so bad. So bad. Infected, they smell. The female is lethargic. No energy, she feels so light when you pick her up. She’s breathing very slow and small breaths. I am heartbroken.”
Now we need your help giving Gracie and Angelo the care they need. We have partnered with Rescue Dogs Rock to create the Animal Welfare Awareness jewelry and apparel you see below. With every purchase you help give Gracie and Angelo a second chance. With your help they will never feel pain again.
Keep in mind, Gracie and Angelo are still recovering... Their veterinary partner and her staff are doing an absolutely wonderful job with them! You may remember that besides suffering neglect, we almost lost Gracie and even the skin on her feet had turned black and sloughed off! Well look at them now!
They are 10 months old and about 20 - 25 pounds now. Gracie and Angelo are thought to be hound mixes. Sadly, the neglect they suffered took its toll and emotionally they are still scared and timid. But they are enjoying comfort, good food, lots of love from their veterinary staff, and are certainly feeling much better. They do rely on each other for comfort. They enjoy the company of other dogs and just need a quiet place to relax and learn that all people are not bad.
