Conway was found with a nail in his stomach in freezing weather.
We have created these animal saving products to save a dog named Conway. Our partners at The Arrow Fund spent all day transporting this gentle giant to the Emergency Vets. As temperature plummet a completely starved dog was found abandoned. He had been shot with a pellet gun and a nail is embedded in his colon. He is dehydrated and has a mass in one lung.
Although Conway seems to be a very old pup he is estimated to be only 5 years of age and has lived a life of PURE HELL! How this boy in this condition survived these temperatures is a miracle. He would not have survived another night.
Today Conway will see the Internal Medicine Team at Blue Pearl Hospital. We have been told an Advanced CT Scan will be performed. This will be to help identify the mass.
Regarding the nail is in his colon. There is always a chance it can perforate the colon. Sadly, starving dogs will eat anything to fill their bellies.
UPDATE 2-4-19: Conway is now in a Medical Foster Home with Jamie and Mychell Lawson while awaiting the results of the fungal test to see if he has Blastomycosis, a fungal disease. These results take about a week. Doctors are desperate to find out what that baseball sized mass in his lungs is. Visually, most would guess he’s probably 12+ yrs old. Shockingly, he is 5 years old.
UPDATE 2-20-19: I have some heartbreaking news. Conway, an animal we launched with you all last week, was diagnosed with cancer. The tumor that was removed from his lung tested positive for cancers which mean he will now enter the hospice program with The Arrow Fund. The Arrow Fund told us that he will be spoiled every single day for as long as they have him. They are asking for your love and prayers.
The Arrow Funds focus will be on quality of life.
Hospice Update 3-19-19: Conway who is now in our Hospice Program had his first Chemotherapy Session and he seems to be tolerating it well. This is not a cure, but rescuers are hoping to extend his life and let him continue to be spoiled rotten in their animal hospice program. Quality of life is very important. Conway has gained 10 pounds since his surgery. He is living like a king with his hospice foster mommy and daddy.
We have created the animal saving products you see below to help raise the funds to cover his care. We ask that you consider purchasing one of these items and help support our partners at The Arrow Fund save his life.
The Arrow Fund
The Arrow Fund provides medical treatment to Kentuckiana animals who have been the victims of torture or extreme forms of abuse and neglect.
