Crosby: Shot in the eye leaving him completely blind
NOTE: This is an active investigation. This is the only information we can release at this point.
Crosby, an unaltered male brindle Boxer, was found wandering in the woods screaming in pain and running into trees.
He is blind in the left eye due to an older injury. But, what infuriates us is that he was shot in the right eye. Hunters observed him crying for a few days and they finally were able to catch him. Animal control was contacted.
The Arrow Fund stepped in to rescue Crosby and give him the immediate medical care he needs. And, at the top of the list was pain relief!
Crosby has lost all vision at this point, but he will go through a full exam with the Ophthalmologist to determine vision outcome. It is unlikely that vision will be able to be restored for this boy. An ultrasound on Monday will tell the rescue more. Radiographs are being done, as well as a complete blood panel.
This case is under investigation and no further details will be given out at this time. If and when we have more details to share, we will do so.
Here are the results for Cosby. The X-rays show that the bullet he was shot with went straight through his eye. He also had prior damage to the other eye which was destroyed. How long has he been living like this we do not know. Witnesses said he was in the woods crying for some time. Despite everything that was done to Cosby he is a loving and gentle soul. He is getting tons of love from rescuers and veterinarians. We will keep you posted on his progress.
For right now, we need to focus on getting medical care Crosby needs. This is where we need your help. With every tee, hoodie, bracelet or accessory purchased, you can help save Crosby.
