Daisy came into the shelter scared & unable to move.
We just received an urgent call for help from Second Chance Rescue NYC. This senior female was brought into the shelter unable to stand and she is very unresponsive. The shelter did not have the diagnostics to treat her, and they were very scared she may not survive the night if she didn’t get critical medical care at a 24-hour hospital.
Volunteers at SCR NYC could not stand by knowing that this girl was suffering in the shelter. They went into action and rushed Daisy to the ER. We know Daisy deserves the chance to live. We are hoping that you will agree, and help us to get Daisy the continued medical care that she needs.
We do not have a lot of information right now. The shelter had very little to go on. All they know is she arrived lifeless and unresponsive. SCR couldn't let her suffer without getting her the emergency care that she so desperately needed. On examination her abdomen was hard upon palpitation. She was unable to walk, and was extremely lethargic. We are all praying that she can be saved, and we will do everything we can for her. Emergency Doctors and staff are working as we speak to save her life and stabilize Daisy.
RIP: We have a heartbreaking message from Second Chance Rescue. The just lost baby Daisy. Founder, Jennifer, writes, "Daisy has fought and fought, our medical team did everything medically available to save her. Sadly Daisy has left us and we are left trying to figure out and accept how anyone could allow this amazingly sweet dog languish in such a terrible state. She was eaten up with cancer, her pain level was so high she didn't want to move. She fought for every breath and in the end we simply could not allow her to suffer any longer. It was not about our emotions, it was about poor Daisy who just made it to medical help too late. We are sorry we failed you Daisy, until we meet again."
Although Daisy has passed away it doesn't mean that Second Chance Rescue NYC doesn't need our help. They need our help now more than ever. Second Chance Rescue NYC is a licensed Non Profit Organization and rely solely on donations to continue their life-saving work. They cannot do this without us. Bills typically run about $2000.00 for our injured dogs. That is why we have created this page. With every purchase of Daisy’s tees, hoodies, bags and bracelets you can help these incredible people cover this care and save more animals just like her. Please help me give Daisy’s life meaning. Help it mean that she will save another life in need.
