Save two dogs from a Korean Dog Meat farm!
As most of you know, my brother Darren passed away. He was and will always be an animal advocate. In honor of my brother Darren, our partners at The Arrow Fund rescued 2 dogs from the Korean Meat Market, saved before becoming someone's dinner. The male is named Darren and the female is named Eve. To say they need your help is an understatement. We have created this campaign to raise awareness for the dog meat trade and to save two dogs from that horrible fate.
At 1 am this morning, The Arrow Fund arrived in Louisville after traveling almost 1000 miles to pick up 2 suffering dogs rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm. 170 dogs total were on this dog meat farm that is currently being shut down by HSI. Every single dog have been saved. The Arrow Fund agreed to take 2 in need of special veterinary care.
Both dogs have been rushed to the Emergency Clinic. Darren, a male Mastiff Great Dane mix and Eve, a small female Greyhound had been raised in horrific conditions and were destined for an excruciating end before ending on someone’s dinner plate.
By any American's standards, it’s truly horrific – dogs kept in cages, as they wait to be sent to the slaughterhouse."It’s a very barbaric life that they have and it’s a very barbaric treatment when they go to market,” The Arrow Fund’s Rebecca Eaves said.
In Korea alone it is estimated that 2.5 million dogs are sent for slaughter each year! The conditions and treatment are horrendous and barbaric! Today you can help save the lives of two of those dogs.
This is where we are asking for your help! Their care will cost in the thousands. That is just not the type of donations The Arrow Fund has. We have stepped in to help in our own little way. We have created the Animal Abuse Awareness shirts, hoodies, totes and bracelets you see below. We ask that if you would consider one of these items for your Christmas gift list. It's a great gift to give to family and friends and you get to tell them not only did they get a cute shirt but they helped stop the dog meat trade and save the life of Darren and Eve.
Darren is one of The Arrow Fund dogs saved from being slaughtered for human food on a South Korean Dog Meat Farm. It is estimated that 2.5 million dogs are slaughtered in South Korea alone. We feel honored that we could be a part of something so big - we hope as more people are educated about this heinous practice we can together take the proper steps to shut down this barbaric suffering. Darren and Eve continue to heal from the trip from Korea. Please continue to share their story and help end the practise of eating dogs.
A pictorial story of Darren - Mastiff/ Great Dane mix .A dog headed for torture and slaughter in South Korea. Now safe with The Arrow Fund. They brought in 2 of the 170 dogs saved from this particular dog meat farm. We were proud to help these two. We wanted to tell their story because so many people are unaware of the constant slaughter of dogs going on in other countries. Both Darren and Eve are progressing well. Darren came to The Arrow Fund at 55 pounds on December 4th. Emaciated and his muscle were atrophied. Now he is about 80 pounds and growing. He is playful and has a lot of energy. He spent a few weeks at Blue Pearl being treated for emaciation, malnutrition, internal parasites, and wound to the foot and tail .
