Dobby was brought into the shelter at only 6 weeks old. Can you believe this? He barely weighs 4 pounds. His body is all but destroyed from neglect. We need your help! Get your Dobby tee and help save this babies’ life today!
He was rushed by rescuers to the emergency vet. Doctors are astounded by what condition he is in. Dobby has a dislocated hip joint which may be separated from his growth plate. He also has very bad food bloat and has received shots to help his stomach process what’s inside it.
He is on iv fluids, pain medication and has had xrays, and blood work done. His body temperature is still low & he has had shots to help his body process the food in it. He is in a heated cell to try to raise his temperature. We are hoping for a miracle, he is holding on which is positive. We need your help.
We have created this special page to help raise funds needed to save Dobby and support Rescue Dogs Rock. With every tee, hoodie, bracelet, or bag purchased, you can help give tiny Dobby the life saving care he deserves. With your help I know this baby can make it!
UPDATE: 5-10-17: Dobby has tested positive for Neospora which would have been passed to him through his mother. It's a degenerative disease caused by a parasite and it attacks the brain and spinal cord. It is not common in dogs and usually found in livestock. It is not curable or reversible. That said, the treatment is the antibiotic clindamyacin which he has been on for the past 2 weeks. This drug is supposed to halt the progression.
This disease is new to rescuers but they will do everything they can to give Dobby the best life and more importantly, quality of life possible! He saw an internal medicine specialist on Tuesday and learned there are some new studies out on other medications which may help. While Dobby can't currently stand or walk, he's bright, alert, happy, wags his tail, eats well & has started playing with toys. These are the positives. Please pray for baby Dobby.
