Dodge was ripped to shreds and left at the shelter.
Our partners at Dallas Dog RRR received a plea for a critically injured puppy that was reportedly attacked by another dog and then brought to the shelter. It was late at night so with out immediate help they were going to euthanize him. We couldn't let that happen. Rescuers rushed him to the ER.
His injuries aren't fresh and they reek of infection. It's obvious he will lose his leg. But thankfully, he's not going to lose his life. At the emergency Clinic Dodge remains in critical condition. Besides the obvious leg trauma, there are multiple puncture wounds on his shoulder as well even his back leg. His one ear has partially been torn off. It looks like he was used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring.
Before he can have surgery he needs to be stabilized. He is turning down water, so he has had to remain hooked up to constant IV fluids. He remains on pain meds as doctors try to get him stable for surgery to amputate that infected leg.
The infection, however, is a concern and time is becoming a factor. While doctors are hoping he will stabilize a bit more today for surgery, if he doesn't, he more than likely will have surgery tomorrow. It's what they have to do to save his life. Now we are working with the rescuers to raise the funds needed to save Dodge’s life! His vetting bills will be in the thousands and that's just no the type of funds DDRRR has. Please help us!
