I am in tears. I know the video and photos are hard to see. Our partners at Rescue Dogs Rock just saved a dog last night with his head barely above water slowly drowning in a canal. He was found floating beside his doggy friend who was already dead from drowning. Foxy refused to leave his dead friend’s body in the water.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC received a plea to save a dog drowning in a canal in Texas. The local police department rushed to help him and RDR sent volunteers to help. No one was prepared for what the saw. How he survived this long is a true miracle. Sadly, many dogs are dumped in these areas for owners to get rid of their responsibilities, while dogs like Foxy pay the ultimate price! Volunteers plucked Foxy from certain death in the water and rushed him to their Emergency Vet Hospital where doctors were waiting to give life saving care. Foxy is very weak, his frail body is completely infested with ticks. The first task was stabilizing him. Foxy was on death’s door by the time he arrive at the ER.

Foxy, although almost dead, was still showing rescuers that he had a will to live. He was placed on IC and veterinarian staff gave Foxy a life-saving blood transfusion. Rescuers described veterinarians initial diagnosis for Foxy as suffering from tickborne infections of anaplasma and ehrlichia. Onto of everything else Foxy is extremely anemic (13%) with no platelets. His prognoses is not good but RDR have made a promise to do everything possible to save Foxy and we are here to support them!
