Frankie: Fighting for his life after being ran over by a car.
This case is a nail bitter. Second Chance Rescue asked us to help this poor dog who was saved literally minutes after he was set to be euthanized. SCR immediately reached out to their Partners at Dallas DogRRR and asked them to please reach out to the shelter to see if they could help this amazing puppy set to be put down at 5pm, simply because they had no room or the means to care for this critical case.
As luck would have it, He was still alive and Second Chance Rescue stepped up to save his life. Due to the severity of his injuries, the Doctors at the ER suspect that Frankie was definitely not hit by a car but rather, Run over. He is currently at the hospital fighting for his life.
SCR knew when they sent the plea past deadline that no one was going to pull Frankie from euthanasia. When you see the words "Pelvic fracture", most rescues know they are looking at very high medical bills to repair the damage that was done. His Pelvis is obliterated and the bladder is in horrible condition. Frankie had no options and we couldn't watch him die so unfairly.
Frankie was in a lot of pain yesterday, had no control of his bladder with blood in his urine just gushing out. His cute little tail is also broken. Despite the trauma he is going through, he is very well natured and extremely loving. Second Chance Rescue paid out the initial $1600 yesterday for the ER stabilization, X-rays, catheter, much needed pain management, IV fluids, antibiotics etc. He is in the ER for the next couple of days and they are hoping to have the surgery in the next 24hrs. The estimate for the surgeries are well over an additional $2500 at this point.
We are begging everyone to support this emotional save today and to help us help this dog who is very lucky to be alive! We have partnered with Second Chance Rescue NYC to help raise the funds needed for Frankie's care. You can make a difference in Frankie's life one tee, hoodie or bracelet at a time!
