Gidget sat at the shelter completely shredded from abuse.
This is happening right now. This poor puppy has be torn to pieces. Our partners at Dallas Dog RRR knew if they did not step in this puppy would die. She was sitting at the high kill shelter with open wounds, infected gashes and her bone was literally sticking out. What happened? Who did this? We do not know any details yet. We just know this baby needs our help.
It was closing time at the shelter and she had no hope. With just minutes to spare rescuers rushed to the shelter. Once again they are left to pick of the pieces. The puppy, now named Gidget, is in route to the Emergency Vet to try and save her life.
She is receiving IV fluids and antibiotics. Sadly, doctors were too late to save her leg. Gidget will be getting left leg amputated as a result of her injuries. She still has fever and her wounds are infected. She will be staying at the Emergency Vet on fluids, antibiotics and pain meds. She will stay over night tonight for observation with 24 hour care. Rescuers are hoping her blood work and everything remains the same so she can have the surgery ASAP. Doctors cannot perform surgery until she is stable. We are pleading for your help.
Gidget’s emergency surgery and ongoing care will cost in the thousands and thats just not the kind of fund this rescue has. So, we have stepped in to help. We have created the Animal Abuse Awareness shirts, hoodies, totes and bracelets you see below. We ask that if you would consider one of these items. It's a great way to show family and friends that not only do you have a cute shirt but you helped save Gidget’s life.
Dallas DogRRR is a group of dedicated, animal-loving volunteers who support the abandoned dogs of Dallas, Texas, by collecting supplies, paying vet bills, locating foster families, facilitating adoptions, and advocating for a more hopeful future. We are often seen even in the trenches of SE Dallas searching for and rescuing forgotten dogs. We have no administrative fees; no one is on payroll. Every single cent that is donated goes directly to paying for vet bills and food/supplies for our rescued dogs, as well as for boarding (for those that don’t have fosters). We are simply a group of volunteers motivated by the inspiring rescue stories that we get to be a part of every day!
