Grace was a stray dog brought into a high kill shelter whose body was falling apart.
To say we need your help us an understatement. Ok friends - brace yourselves before you view these photos. Just when we think we've seen the worst...
This poor baby girl was out on the Houston streets by herself for God knows how long before someone actually stopped and picked her up. No telling how many people walked right by her in the condition she was in and did Nothing. We do know that she had an embedded harness that had grown into her skin that had to be removed. The pain this baby in doored is unthinkable.
Just look at those photos. Her body is literally falling apart. Our partners at Scout’s Honor Rescuer have rushed Grace to the Emergency Hospital for life saving care. She has deep puncture wounds all over. She has large gashes across her back and neck. Her body shakes in pain and fear. Now we must rally together to save this girl’s life.
Dogs come into the shelter in absolutely despicable shape. This happens all the time. This is a COMMUNITY problem we have dumped on the shelter and expect them to be able to fix with no resources. There is no excuse for this.
Rescuers wrote, “We promised her we would fight for her, but we cannot save her without YOU.”
We have created this page to help SHR raise the funds needed to save Grace’s life. Please will you help us? With your help this innocent victim of abuse can survive! Get your Grace shirt, hoodie, tote bag or bracelet and give her the second chance at life she deserves! With your help I know we can save Grace.
Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-breed/mixed breed dog and cat rescue organization that focuses on rescuing and placing homeless dogs and cats in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas. We are one of the very few rescues that will take in the sick, the injured, the old, the ugly (although we don't think so!) and those that are the most unloved on a regular basis. Scout's Honor was formed in May 2006, and is often the last resort for the homeless and needy animals left abandoned to die in pounds or on the mean streets.
