Halo was repeatedly hit with a baseball bat and lay outside her "owner's" home for weeks with no medical care.
A report came in of a dog who was hit, repeatedly, with a baseball bat. Little did rescuers know the story doesn’t end there. She was abused with a bat two weeks ago and since then she has been just laying outside of her “owners” home with NO medical care. TWO WEEKS OF HER OWNERS WALKING OVER HER and they did nothing!
The Arrow Fund immediately stepped in to save her life. Rescuers have named her Halo and are hoping for a miracle.
This case will be under investigation so details at this time will not be posted on social media. Thank you for your understanding.
Halo is in critical condition this morning. In addition to the reports of being beaten with a bat this girl has advanced Blastomycosis (a fungal disease), anemia, high white cell count and is a body scale 2 of 9. Her eyes will be evaluated. As of right now one of her eyes will be removed and they are trying to save the other eye. She also has a badly broken leg.
There is some good news. When she was first admitted doctors though they would have to insert a breathing tube but I just got word from Rebecca that doctors said her breathing has drastically improved since this morning and there is no need for a breathing tube!
Rescuers released a statement saying they will keep fighting to save Halo as long as it is a humane effort. We will keep your posted on her abuse case as well as updates on her progress. Now we are asking for your help.
We have created the animal saving products you see below to help raise the funds needed to cover the costs of Halo’s care. We ask that you consider purchasing one of these items and help support The Arrow Fund save her life.
Update: March 29, 2019
It is with utter sadness to report that Halo receiver her wings. She fought so hard, but her little body just could not take any more. Halo touched all who met her. Special thanks to you for your kindness. We know you all cared so deeply for Halo too. The Arrow Fund writes, "Sweet Halo, The Arrow Fund was honored to have you join our family and you will always be our girl. With tears and a broken heart."
