Helena was hit by a car and drug across the freeway.
She was hit by a car and dragged across the highway! The cowards didn’t even stop! She was left for hours in the street, crying out in pain. In Venezuela street dogs are treated like garbage and no-one wanted to help. Her rear legs are crushed and ribs are injured. The rescuers at New York Bully Crew have committed to saving Helena.
We are here to help sponsor that care with one of our animal saving t-shirts you see below.
Helena is hospitalized and finally on IV pain medications and doctors have stabilized her. Unfortunately X-rays show a severe spine injury which means rear paralysis. Rescuers are consulting with a surgeon for options. Her rescuers have asked if we would support their decision to give her every opportunity to enjoy life. I believe that paralysis shouldn’t limit a life. I have a paralyzed dog myself and he lives a very full and happy life! I know we can do the same for Helena.
New York Bully Crew have committed to her medical care and finding her a caregiver in Venezuela. Will you join us in giving Helena the chance to experience love and kindness?
Please help us sponsor Helena so New York Bully Crew can continue to save lives. With one of our animals saving tees you see below you can sponsor Helena. If you can consider one for yourself or a friend and help this innocent victim find a new life!
UPDATE 9/20/19: Her spinal cord is compromised and her vertebrae is fractured. She was evaluated by specialists and is immobile. She is a gentle, tender dog and is innocent of her misfortune, she will need help as a disabled dog but we all know disable dogs can have a wonderful life! She will need long-term treatments and a wheelchair. Will you help?
UPDATE 9/23/19: Helena had a bath and her wounds are slowly healing. Bone is exposed but her caregivers are giving her around the clock care. The good news is she has a good appetite and is very alert and happy.
UPDATE 10/5/19: I have an Helenda update and I know its graphic but its important that we don’t turn away. Miss Helena is making progress but her wounds need daily debridement and care plus she is bathed daily. Since Helena is paralyze she requires diapers to keep her clean. She has a good appetite and is thankful for the second chance rescuers have given.
