Henna: Found as a stray with injuries that shook locals, animal control to their core
Henna was a neighborhood stray that was seen frequently all year wandering around by the locals looking for food and a place for her to lay her head. She had no owner and no comforts of a home.
She recently resurfaced with a gut-wrenching injury that shook the locals to their core and animal control was called. It was obvious she needed critical care immediately.
No one knows exactly what happened, but two things are clear. First, this was not done by another animal nor was she hit by a vehicle. We are puzzled as to how her entire back has been completely scalped off of her body. Just another homeless dog that no one gives a damn about and to add insult to injury, she is now in a life-threatening state.
She clearly does not have enough skin to graph from another part of her body so she will require several months of wound care if she has not gone necrotic or septic already. She is in complete shock and only she knows what happened or who did this to her. Her care will be AT LEAST $5,000 for an injury of this grotesque magnitude.
Dallas DogRRR, in partnership with Second Chance Rescue, have taken Henna into their care and is getting the medical care she needs. But, your help is a necessity. With every purchase you make - from tees and hoodies to totes and bracelets, you can make a difference and change Henna's life forever.
Update: October 24, 2017
Blue Pearl was able to successfully reattach the entire piece of Hennas back that was hanging off her body. The next 72 hrs are critical to make sure the procedure is not rejected and can withstand any infection. Our buddy is highly doped up counting the purple mullet ponies in the sky. Please send that distance reiki to our beautiful Henna, she is going to need it. She will remain in ICU for an undetermined amount of time for bandage changes, wash outs, pain management and observation.
