Hooch has been used over and over as bait.
We have created this tee shirt campaign to help raise the funds needed to save a puppy fighting for her life.
Meet Hooch - the face of a bait dog. Hooch was found on the side of a rural county road in Pike County, Al. The gentleman walked up to Hooch and he never moved. Hurting, swollen, and with infection running through his body, Hooch had given up. The kind man picked him up and loaded him into his truck.
The kind man called Troy Animal Rescue Project and they decided to get him to their vet for humane euthanasia - as rescuers thought he was too far gone. Sometimes this is the decision rescuers have to make. But something must have triggered for Hooch. Maybe he felt that someone cared for the first time in his life? By the time he got to their vets office, Hooch had perked up and doctors were confident he had the fight left to make it through surgery.
Troy Animal Rescue Project has had Hooch since Wednesday but haven’t posted because they didn’t know if he would survive his injuries. Today, rescuers are more confident that he will recover. He actually ate for the first time today!
Hooch has a injuries pretty much everywhere on his body. His throat and legs are covered in bite wounds. He has wounds on his head, face, and jaws. His right jaw took the worst of the attack. Part of his jaw is actually necrotic (or dead).
Hooch is covered in old bite wound scars. His neck, face and legs are covered. What horrible life did he live being repeatedly attacked then healing then attacked again - and then thrown out like trash?!
Hooch is lucky. He was found by a kind gentleman who helped him get where he needed to go. Hooch is now in the very capable hands of Dr Hawkins and Troy Animal Clinic. They are doing everything they can to make sure he has the life he has always deserved.
To help with all of the specialty care and vetting for Hooch please consider purchasing one of his shirts, hoodies or coffee mugs below. With every purchase you can help Troy Animal Rescue Project give him a second chance at life and love.
UPDATE 10-27-18: Poor Hooch has had a long day. Some scans had to be removed to allow pus from infection to drain on his head and parts of his mouth have begun to sloth off because the tissue is dead. Dr Hawkins is making sure that he stays out of pain. Please keep Hooch in your thoughts and prayers.
UPDATE 12-3-18: Ok friends we have some news on Hooch. He has healed completely from his physical scars. He spent weeks at their vet clinic fighting for his life. Hooch is now recovering at our rescue center. He has a lot of emotional trauma to go along with physical injuries. He is not available for adoption just yet because of those emotional problems. He is being trained with a professional dog trainer to help in his recovery.
