Iclyn and Eira are deaf and blind and left in a dumpster.
These two blind and deaf sisters are now safe with New York Bully Crew. They were found abandoned in dumpster in an apartment complex. Yes… a dumpster. On top of being blind and deaf they are covered in painful mange.
They have named them Iclyn and Eira, symbolizing the purity of Winter. NYBC rescued them from San Antonio Animal Care Services.
They were scheduled to see a specialist in congenital deficits but then they took a turn for worse. Iclyn and Eira presented with vomiting and bloody stool. At the hospital they tested positive for parvovirus. Being dumped in a garbage dumpster and then admitted to the shelter is most likely the root of this potentially deadly virus.
These girls are isolated and are being treated with supportive care such as IV fluids and medications but they need to fight this virus to survive. Rescuers are worried that due to the neglect and mange they this will harm their ability to recover.
They are going to see a specialists to make sure this congenital condition hasn't affected any other organs besides their eyes and ears. They cling to each other for comfort, for safety. NYBC will do everything in the power to save these innocent victims but need support. We are here to help in our own way.
UPDATE 11/5/19: Parvo sheds the tissue of the intestines which leads to blood loss. The hospital is doing everything they can to give these girls the very best chance of recovery. Eira is feeling a bit stronger than Her sister. Please pray for their strength to overcome this.
Their medical care is extensive and expensive for rescuers! We are sponsoring their care with one of our animal saving products. If you can consider one for yourself or a friend and help these two deaf and blind sisters left in a dumpster.
