Jessa was tied to a fence covered in wounds!
Someone tied this poor baby girl to a fece and left her there to die. She has enormous bite wounds on her belly and cheek and multiple bite marks on her face. We can only speculate that she was used as bait. She also has a huge mass in the center of her chest.
Animal control brought her into the Philadelphia ACCT. At the high kill shelter she had little chance of being rescue let along being treated for her wounds.
Our partners at New York Bully crew rushed to the shelter and transported Jessa to UPenn for Emergency treatment. Before anything can be done doctors needed to stabilize Jessa. Once in the surgery room they truly discovered the extent of her injuries and it was some of the worst they have seen. She is suffering both physically and mentally. She was so scared.
Hey wounds and scars tell a truly heartbreaking story. Just look into those eyes and you can see she has lived a horrible life. Well that all changes now. with your help rescuers can save Jessa and give her the pain free life she deserves.
Jessa is covered in bite wounds, has one large, open wound under her belly where you can tell she has been overbred. The giant mass on her chest is actually a pocket filled with fluid from another bite wound. This is dangerous because that area needs to drain. It is near the lymph nodes under her armpits. Infection can easily set in if not treated.
UPDATE: This is what 2 weeks of love looks like. Jessa heals a little more each day...both inside and out!! Please continue to support her care! They tried to break her. They tried to defeat her. They failed! Each day Jessa shows how forgiving AND accepting of love this breed is. We hurt for her to try to think what has happened to her and how she was discarded. We love you Jessa!! Nothing but the good life here on out and we promise that NO ONE will ever hurt you again!!
