WTF... They shot Kimber in the head... They beat her with a blunt object... then left her to die in the road. I WILL NOT ALLOW HER TO DIE... Keep reading to help us find her abuser : http://dogco.org/save-kimber-rdrPosted by Hendrick & Co. on Saturday, December 3, 2016
In Reiglewood, North Carolina a white bulldog was shot in the head, bludgeoned and left to die on the side of the road! This is the worst case of abuse I have seen. According to Animal Control, the dog was discovered near the Bladen County line and had been shot through the head and beaten with a blunt object. Who could do this? Why?
When discovered, the four-year-old sweet dog dubbed Kimber, was just lying on the side of the road with blood pouring out of the top of her head and eye. She was immediately brought to the shelter’s veterinarian for emergency help. Shelter staff notified Rescue Dogs Rock NYC asking for help. We have created this campaign to help raise the donations needed for her care. Will you help us?
“Why would a human being hurt Kimber so brutally? Why do evil people like this exist in our world? Why does this happen?,” asked co-founder of the rescue organization, Jackie O’Sullivan. “We can only pick up the shattered pieces of the dogs who need us most and try to help them. This is why we are here. This is why we exist … to help the Voiceless.”
Kimber has was rushed to the organization’s emergency partner veterinarian and will need a CT scan to determine the extent of the head and eye injuries she has sustained. Just walking in the door, Kimber’s initial veterinarian bill is estimated to be $1,000. Please help this fine organization – they have taken in an extraordinary amount of emergency cases these last few weeks.
Joey Prince, supervisor of Animal Control in Reiglewood (910.641.3945.) is says this act of cruelty a “horrible case” and is asking for the public’s help identifying the person(s) who tortured this dog. Now we are focused on saving this innocent victim of abuse.
UPDATE 12-8-16: Kimber is at Verg South, our Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Brooklyn NY getting some extra TLC from the staff. Kimber continues to fight and survive after being brutally shot in the head and hit. She sustained a severe fracture under her right eye socket and due to the position of the fracture surgery is not an option.
Kimber will need to remain calm in order for the fracture to heal on its own. The gun shot wound on the top of her head is open and oozing and healing slowly. It can not be surgically closed and will require round the clock bandage changes. Rescue Dogs Rock medical team states that it is truly a miracle that Kimber survived these acts of cruelty and continues to fight for her life.
RDR write “Please send some positive thoughts towards Kimber’s recovery. If you can find it in your heart to donate towards Kimber’s continued medical treatment , we would greatly appreciate… " Please help save Kimber by purchasing one of her animal saving tees, hoodie, necklace or tote you see her. Please help us reach our goal and save her life. Help us make the holidays about saving Kimber! I know we can do this!
Kimber remains at Rescue Dogs Rock’s NY vet partner recovering, after spending a few days at our Brooklyn Specialty Hospital. Kimber’s bullet hole on the top of her head remains open and is starting to heal. The fracture under her eye also is healing and will need time. She is comfortable now, on pain meds and rests a lot.Kimber is the sweetest baby girl , gentle and so well mannered. RDR is looking for a foster Home for Kimber to continue her recovery. If you are interested please visit rescuedogsrocknyc.org. We are still helping raise the funds needed for Rescue Dogs Rock to care for Kimber. This is very expensive for them. If you haven't already please consider purchasing an item on her page. Everything from a simple teeshirt to a toe bag or necklace can help us save this baby girl!
