Littleton was tied up in front of a motel and spit on.

Littleton did not enter this world yearning to be a yard ornament. The shelter just called our partners at Second Chance Animal Rescue in a panic about this "owner surrender". Littleton Grub, was brought in, unresponsive. Volunteers noted that he was covered in blood and smelling like spit and weed from the hotel yard he was chained up in.

Littleton was just laying in the yard, unable to move because he is 100% matted from head to toe. To add to his misery and discomfort, 2 VERY LARGE aggressive dogs jumped in the yard and mauled him. He obviously didn't see this coming because he can't see with all of his dirty hair growing over his face. So after been shook apart for who knows how long, the owner was finally able to free him from one of the dogs mouths and then dumped his dying body at the pound. I am so upset.

Littleton has never known the finer things in life and rescuers want him to live so they can show him how beautiful his life could potentially be but we need your help. He has suffered broken ribs, his chest is ripped wide open, we don't know if his neck or back are broken and of course the ER costs will cost an arm and a leg. He is in shock, has lost too much blood and his blood pressure is bottoming out, this is just the least of it.

Second Chance Rescue NYC and doctors are doing everything possible to save Littleton. We have partnered with SCR to help raise the funds they need to save him. His care will in the tens of thousands including emergency care and any surgeries she will need. That is not the type of funds rescuers have.

UPDATE: We have a message straight from Littleton himself, "I just wanted to show all of you how amazing and happy I feel! Danger followed me my entire life, little did I know that there were angels behind me every step of the way. I felt so small, alone helpless and dirty... I was hopeless. I thought life was about being mistreated, boy was I wrong. I am starting to learn that I am a limitless being, I am in a state of gratitude... change is beautiful. I thought my heart was breaking but instead, my heart is now hatching. I have been shedding the shell of the dog I use to be.

His vetting bills are extensive and his rescuers still need support. Please consider purchasing one of his shirts, totes, bracelets and coffee mugs below. We have partnered with SCR to create these animal saving products to raise the funds needed to save him.

UPDATE: I have a message from founder of Second Chance Rescue Jennifer Brooks who saved Littleton. She writes "When we first agreed to take Littleton after he had been mauled by two dogs in a yard we didn't know that he would survive. A few folks demanded we humanly euthanize him. I could not bare the idea of this young little dog not ever knowing what it should feel like to be loved. He was one complete dirty mat of hair who couldn't even see. As far as I was concerned, Littleton suffered inhumanly his entire life as a hair lawn ornament. I was willing to make him suffer another 24 hours of life saving emergency care if it meant providing him with the life he was owed later. He had clearly proven his entire life that he was a survivor and his life had purpose. Sometimes we need to be crushed and broken to learn what true happiness really is. We survive from suffering and together we NEVER left his side. Littleton Grubs will be released from medical care of Dr . Terry and The Barbie Dreamhouse facility this evening and arrive to his new family in VERMONT tomorrow."
