Loki was shot on a mans porch.
A pitbull came into animal control after someone called 911. The caller stated there was a PitBull on his porch with an embedded collar. When officers came to the scene they found that the dog did NOT have an embedded collar instead he had been shot and was lying lifeless in the field across the street. His body had gunshot wounds all over it.
After police questioned the caller the man’s story changed to that the dog was standing on his porch and that the man feared for his life. He said that is when he shot the dog. No charges were able to be pressed because he said he felt his life as in danger. Now rescuers must focus on saving the dogs life.
Southern States Bull Rescue immediately rushed the pitbull into the vets where they found he was buckshot over 200 times! Literally over 200 times. His X-rays show his body completely covered in buckshot.
The pitbull, now named Loki, has an extremely swollen abdomen. His doctor reports that Loki has advanced heart and lung disease. Doctors cannot physically remove the bullets because it would do more damage than good.
He needs to start treatment right away and his rescuers need your help. Treatment will cost about $700 as well as his freedom ride today being $100. Can you help us save him?
UPDATE 2-20-19: Tomorrow Loki goes in for his vet exam and to begin his heartworm treatment. Because his HW’s are so advanced, he must undergo fast kill treatment which rescuers really don’t typically like to do but in his case it’s his only option. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and support him if you can.
Please consider purchasing on of the items below and help us raise the funds needed. Help SSBR save Loki!
