Lyann: Barely hanging on to life
Lyann has been at Rescue Dogs Rock's Emergency Hospital for 3 weeks fighting every day to survive. It's been quite a roller coaster with many lows and highs along the way. Thankfully, we can say with confidence now that Lyann is definitely through the worst and on her way to a full recovery.
She is a fighter that's for sure. Today she had an amazing visit with volunteers from Rescue Dogs Rock. They are hoping Lyann can leave the Emergency Hospital soon. Please consider purchasing an item above to help us save this baby girl.
We are over the moon to announce after 1 week at our specialty 24/7 ER vet, Lyann has been transferred to our primary vet where she will continue her care for the foreseeable future! She is a fighter & a survivor & we are SO proud of her resilience & will to live! She still needs your help!
Lyann remains in critical condition at the ER vet and underwent a blood transfusion last night. She is a little better than she was Monday when she was rushed to the vet, but she has a VERY long road back. It's impossible to look at her fragile 21lb frame without feeling a pain in your chest. She makes you embarrassed to be a human being as a human being did this to her.
Aside from being starved, she has demodex mange that was so ignored and neglected that it caused horrible infected sores all over her skeletal body. She is incredibly swollen, anemic, her temperature needs regulating, her calcium levels are thru the roof & her blood counts are off.
However bad these photos are, it is impossible to accurately explain what it's like to see her in person. The way she looks at you with her eyes sunken into her head will rattle anyone to their core. She's trying to hold her head up a little bit now, but she is so weak and has no muscle, so she twitches & shakes.
