Mariano: Almost decapitated in Puerto Rico!
This poor soul was chained to the ground and left to die in the blazing sun by his past "owners" who left him and moved away in Puerto Rico. Calling them owners is not appropriate. These people are abusers and nothing less.
He is starving, lonely, scared and the chain tore and embedded itself into his neck! Almost decapitating him completely. Can you imagine his pain? We have created these shirts to help us raise the funds needed for his rescue and care.
Mariano's rescue was dangerous. His rescuers had to grab him at night because rescuing the dogs of Puerto Rico can be met with violence! I stand with these rescuers decision to save his life and I hope you will stand with me too.
Mariano, who is severely malnourished, is at the vet in PR to address his severe health needs. Immediately upon arrival, he was rushed into surgery to remove the necrotic, infected, dead tissue that would not have been able to be treated with just antibiotics and he would have surely died from the infection. A metal chain caused the open, raw wounds that wrapped around his entire neck. It wrapped around his neck so tight it almost decapitated him completely. His past "owners" left him trapped and starving when they moved away. This week's L-O-V-E shirts and hoodies represent the love and hope we are restoring to Mariano's life!
We have partnered with New York Bully Crew to create this campaign and shirt designs to help raise the funds needed for Mariano's recovery. Please, if you are able, consider purchasing an item below to help save this baby's life!
New York Bully Crew
New York Bully Crew is a 501c3 not-for-profit rescue organization founded in December 2010. Though based on Long Island, NYBC’s outreach is nationwide. We specialize in rescuing Pitbulls, however no animal in dire need of rescue is turned away. NYBC strives to bring positive attention to the most loyal breed one could encounter, and give second chances to those who have been discarded by humans simply because of what they are…a Pitbull.
