Mira was beat with a piece of wood!

Warning: Video is disturbing. The Arrow Fund is taking on another case, this time from McCreary County in Kentucky. A witness saw an individual beating a female border collie with a board. Yes you read that right. They were hitting the dog over and over with a piece of wood. Thankfully a good samaritan stepped in and called Animal Control.

This beautiful girl was taken to Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter, where she went into a seizure and was in obvious distress. Shelter staff took video of her seizure and sent out a plea for help. That when The Arrow Fund stepped in to save her life. They also suspect she has a broken jaw from the abuse. TAF will know more once she reaches Blue Pearl and is fully evaluated.

Rescuers have named her Mira which means “peace and wonderful" in Latin. Mira has since been sedated to control her seizures and is now in transport to BluePearl in Louisville – with a vet tech on board – where she will receive immediate life saving medical care and be welcomed with open arms and hearts to The Arrow Fund family.

UPDATE 6-10-17: We learned today that Mira, which we named her, had also been poisoned with antifreeze. Because of the severity of Mira's condition, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to wrap her in love and prayers as she took her last breath. All of us our mourning this loss and appreciate your support. We will update you if and when we have further information regarding the individual allegedly responsible for this heinous, evil act. In the meantime, we've continued to receive requests from supporters on how you can help.

We all know how hard it is to lose a fur baby. Although Mira has passed away it doesn't mean that The Arrow Fund doesn't need our help. They need our help now more than ever. Bills typically run about $2000.00 for our injured dogs. That is why we have created this page. With every purchase of Mira’s tees, hoodies, bags and bracelets you can help these incredible people cover this care and save more animals just like her. Please help me give Mira’s life meaning. Help it mean that she will save another life in need.
