Nana: Chased out of an alley by men with sticks.
New York Bully Crew was made aware of a severely injured female dog on the streets of Puerto Rico being chased out of an alley by men with sticks. Can you believe it? WOW, this really pisses me off.
She is covered in bubbled, raw, open wounds and living amongst filth. Rescuers were able to obtain her so she could receive immediate emergency medical care. We cannot turn a blind eye to this! We will never turn our backs on a dog in need! We are doing the dirty work, we are rescuing more than ever, but we need YOU!
She is not well enough to receive vaccines yet- she has infections running throughout her system, plus her eye is oozing with infection. Nana was rushed to the vet in Puerto Rico to receive medical treatment for what appears to be another BURNING incident or severely chronic skin condition that has created an out of control health situation. One the veterinary staff has never before. Frankly, we are shocked she is still alive.
We need to get Nana well enough to get vaccinated and get her to rescuers and vet staff in NYC. We need to be able to care for these wounds ourselves! On her body it appears that these are new wounds layered on top of old wounds. This is normally an indicator of dog fighting but we cannot say for sure.
Nana has ben prepped for biopsies there is a strong suspicion that she has cutaneous lymphoma which would require chemo rather than removal because of the huge area affected. A lifetime of neglect has taken a toll on this sweet girl. Her body is raw and in pain. But we made her a promise that she will no longer be alone or suffer in pain again. Will you join us?
Saving Nana is as simple as wearing a tee! We have partnered with rescuers at New York Bully Crew in creating this week's animal-saving shirt, long sleeve and hoodie design to help us raise funds needed for Nana's recovery. Please, if you are able, consider purchasing an item below to help save this baby's life! We can't do this without you!
