Nemo was badly neglected and hit by a car.
This is bad you guys. Yes, Baby Nemo was hit by a car but there is evidence to show that before being hit he was also badly neglected. Our partners at Dallas Dogrrr took one look and rushed this tiny baby to their Emergency Vets. He came to the vets in critical condition but was finally stabilized.
Here is what we know. Little Nemo is still hurting, but is slowly healing. After being hit by a car with gruesome injuries to his right rear leg and very bad road rash to his belly, his skin is finally looking better. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his injuries, two of his toes on his rear leg have already fallen off as well as some dead skin from the trauma. However, the tissue around his exposed bone in his leg is showing signs of granulation, so he is continually getting bandage changes to aid with the healing process.
This will not be easy for Nemo. The good news is that his legs are not broken, but more than likely, he will lose at least one more toe as one is it was almost completely severed off. The doctors have the road rash covered with healing ointment. He is very anemic due to the trauma, but also due to being infected with hookworms, which explains the blood in his stool and prior neglect.
He's weak but shows interest in eating and drinking. He did wag his tail for his rescuers, so we know he appreciates the help he is receiving and he is absolutely the sweetest little boy.
This is where we are asking for your help! We have partnered with Dallas Dog RRR to create these animal saving shirts, sweaters and totes to raise the funds needed to give Nemo a second chance. Purchase a shirt today and save Nemo! With your help they can give him a new life full of love and pain free!
