Orchid was found in a ditch completely emaciated
Orchid was laying in a ditch on the side of a country road that not many people travel. But a Good Samaritan passed by and stopped to help. They gave her food and reached out to Dallas DogRRR for help.
Orchid is scared, alone and life-threateningly emaciated. You can see every bone in her rib cage through her thin skin.
Dallas DogRRR rushed her to the hospital for immediate care.
Rescuers believe she is less than two years old, and there's evidence she had puppies in the recent past.
It breaks our heart if she was another dumped Mom, but she'll never have to worry about that again. She's full of worms, has some patches of demodex mange, and obviously needs to gain some weight and muscle. She weighs in at only 33 lbs. She was scared through the exam, but she seems to be starting to warm up to love and affection.
Orchid will need weeks if not months to gain the weight she needs and to learn what love feels like for the first time. Emaciation cases this severe can take a while. Having secondary ailments compounds the situation.
Aww... look at her now! Orchid is gaining weight, strength, and confidence! Thanks to foster siblings, she's learning the ropes and doing great! In a few more weeks, she'll be ready to get spayed and head to her furever home. All we need to do is find her that furever home! ;) www.dallasdogrrr.org/adoptPosted by Dallas DogRRR - Rescue.Rehab.Reform on Thursday, November 8, 2018
UPDATE 11-5-18: As emotionally defeated and weak as she was, Orchid is certainly making progress! Rescuers said she is eating well and starting to gain some confidence and strength. She's a very sweet girl and has a lot of love to give as she's starting to show.

Dallas DogRRR is a group of dedicated, animal-loving volunteers who support the abandoned dogs of Dallas, Texas, by collecting supplies, paying vet bills, locating foster families, facilitating adoptions, and advocating for a more hopeful future. We are often seen even in the trenches of SE Dallas searching for and rescuing forgotten dogs. We have no administrative fees; no one is on payroll. Every single cent that is donated goes directly to paying for vet bills and food/supplies for our rescued dogs, as well as for boarding (for those that don’t have fosters). We are simply a group of volunteers motivated by the inspiring rescue stories that we get to be a part of every day!
