Papa was seized from an animal abuse case under investigation.
This extremely sick senior and was found in critical condition. Our partners at The Arrow Fund knew if they didn’t act quickly he would not survive. Volunteers rushed the senior Boxer to the emergency vets. He has a large ulcerated and bleeding tumor. Along with a tumor he suffers from skin infections, lacerations all over and ear infections are also a factor.
Important information: I know you have questions about who did this. This case is under investigation. TAF is working with officials on this case. So at this time TAF will not be giving out any additional information. We will update the case as we know more.
Doctors ran diagnostic tests the first day. Papa was immidialaty put on IV pain meds, fluids and antibiotics to stabilize him. For the first time in a long time Papa was pain free and had a soft bed where he is receiving advanced Veterinary care and lots of love.
After 24 hours doctors were able to stabilize this poor old boy. Surgery was performed to remove the extremely large ulcerated and bleeding tumor on Papa. The doctor who performed the surgery feels he got good margins. Now we wait for the pathology report. We are hoping and praying this is not cancerous. A CT scan prior to surgery showed how deep this tumor went.
What a shame this boy has suffered with this for so long. He is still groggy, but vitals are good. Most of his body is covered after this extensive surgery. Papa will be monitored 24 hours a day and will be on proper pain meds to get him through this recovery.
Please let us all send love and prayers for a good pathology report. No matter what The Arrow Fund will love this boy from this day forward. We have partnered with TAF to help raise the funds they need to cover his surgery costs and continued care. For that we need your help!
UPDATE: Papa came to us with a large , ulcerated tumor hanging from his belly . It was awful and painful . After getting him stabilized , we did perform surgery to remove the massive tumor. It was sent out for pathology. Well we got the biopsy back. It was a mast cell tumor, and we did get good margins on it. However they are calling it a high grade one, which means that it has the potential to metastasize. We don't see any evidence of spread at this time, but we are being told to proceed with chemo. This is to make sure that we try to knock any cells that could have spread. The Arrow Funds needs your help riasing the funds for Papa's chemotherapy treatments.
To help Papa please consider purchasing one of his shirts, totes, bracelets and coffee mugs below. We have partnered with TAF to create these animal saving products to raise the funds needed to save Papa.
