We have received an anonymous urgent call about a three-week-old blind baby goat with her umbilical cord still attached living on a farm in Upstate New York. This precious angel's name is Pearlie. She was born with issues with her eyes and was rejected by her mother the moment she was born. Pearlie's eyes became progressively worse and eventually, one of the eyes prolapsed (meaning that it is hanging from her eye socket) and extremely vulnerable to further external trauma.

Her other eye is severely ulcerated and close to prolapse. She is blind, dehydrated, weak, in severe pain, undernourished and just days from death. The farmer does not have the financial means to help Pearlie, and so she has been left untreated and suffering since the day she was born.

It just so happens that the goat angels intervened and a volunteer lives in the area where Pearlie needed rescuing. Without hesitation, SCR have taken her to the emergency hospital.

The volunteer that has taken Pearlie to the emergency vet has expressed there is something so incredibly special about her. You may not be able to see into her eyes, but you can feel from her entire being that she is here for a very particular reason. She is here to open the hearts of us all and to bring compassion to us. Pearlie hasn't known much about love from the outside, but she has immeasurable love in her heart. As soon as she was brought into the volunteer's arms, she collapsed as if to say THANK YOU.

We have partnered with Second Chance Rescue NYC to help raise the funds they need to save Pearlie. To help save Pearlie please consider purchasing one of her shirts, totes, bracelets and coffee mugs below. With every purchase you can help us cover her vetting costs and help rescuers save her life!
