Pegasus was dumped at the shelter with her inside falling out!
We just received a 911 plea to save a little girl and WE ARE OUTRAGED! Pegasus is clinging to life as we speak. She was adopted a couple of days ago only to be immediately thrown together with the adopters dog and he ripped her open. Mauled her so badly that her insides are hanging out of her body.
Pegasus was rushed to the emergency vet but WILL need life saving surgery. She is critical and barely alive. WHY WOULD THEY DUMP HER AT THE SHELTER AND NOT TO A VET WHILE HER INSIDES ARE POURING OUT?
She must have been so terrified! She has lost a lot of blood and she is also emaciated. Thankfully two or our rescue partners are working hand in hand to save her life! Now, Dallas Dog RRR and Second Chance Rescue NYC need our help more than ever!
Without hesitation we immediately had our volunteers race to get her. Our focus was on her medical care and we were uncertain she would make it but we needed to try. We teamed up with our rescue partner SCRNYC to immediately start raising funds as we do with all of most of our expensive medical cases. After she was brought to ER, we had multiple conversations with the shelter and reviewed her paperwork she was discharged with. Here are the FINAL facts:
Pegasus was adopted MULTIPLE times. 3 of those times she was found stray after the adoption and no one ever came back looking for her. This last and final adoption almost cost her her life due to IGNORANT POOR choices made by an adopter. Pegasus was spayed at the shelter, brought home and was not kept separate from the adopters dog which resulted in a bite(s) at the spay suture area and her insides were torn out. Adopter immediately DUMPS (YES I SAID IT) Pegasus back at the shelter and not at an ER vet. Further diagnostics at the ER showed that she also had multiple sacks of dead fetus hanging out of her and she was becoming septic. Pegasus is also in a very emaciated state, why? I have no idea.
UPDATE 2-2-17: She has endured both physical and mental abuse. Next week rescuers are having their PTSD trainer come over to work with Pegasus as a precaution considering the trauma she endured. Dallas Dog writes, "We like to set our babies up for success and i'm sure she will be thrilled about it. If you'd like to contribute to her behavioral training you may do so."
Now we are asking for the publics help. We have created this campaign to help save Pegasus’ life. Everything you see here is dedicated to saving her life. Get your Pegasus tee, hoodie, bracelet or tote and give this innocent victim the second chance she deserves.
